Super Bowl 50 is here! And it’s not just a great time for sports fans, but film fans too. Stay tuned for the latest movie spots from the big event.
Many of this year’s biggest films are receiving promos at tonight’s event, and probably eating into a great big chunk of their marketing budgets while doing it; this time around it’s rumoured a 30-second spot will cost roughly $5 million.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice
Film partners Turkish Airlines debuted two promos featuring new detailed looks at Superman’s Metropolis and Batman’s Gotham City. Cameos from Ben Affleck‘s Bruce Wayne and Jesse Eisenberg‘s Lex Luthor only add to the feel of the rich, dynamic cityscapes. Their presence really gives you a sense that the DC Cinematic World will be a more grounded one.

It almost does feel as though you could hop on a plane, a Turkish Airlines plane of course, and fly over to Gotham, although the ad does fail to mention the city’s appalling crime rates..

It seems we can bank on this cinematic World being a very clear and vibrant parody of our own, which is something the comics have always done very well, one with political and corporate involvement, interests and issues.. and don’t forget the media, which no doubt will be used to provide witty social commentary.
